SleepWalk works locally on your Mac. It checks battery level, temperature, power state, and basic running-app information such as name, CPU use, and memory use. This information stays on your Mac.

It does not read your prompts, code, files, windows, or browsing activity. SleepWalk never sells your data.

SleepWalk sends a one-way hash of a device identifier to SleepWalk's trial service when it checks the seven-day trial; it does not send the raw device identifier. Paid activation and validation send the raw license key, Polar organization and activation identifiers, and the generic label “SleepWalk on this Mac” directly to Polar.

Optional usage and diagnostics

Sharing is off until you choose to enable it. If enabled, SleepWalk reports app launches, setup and session outcomes, license and update outcomes, defined error codes, and app, build, and macOS versions to SleepWalk’s reporting service on Cloudflare. Reports include a random installation identifier. Cloudflare supplies approximate country, region, and city from the upload’s network connection. These estimates can reflect a VPN or proxy; raw IP addresses and coordinates are not stored in SleepWalk’s reporting database.

When a checkout or license activation can be linked, this installation’s retained reporting history is associated with the purchaser’s contact and billing details held by Polar, including available checkout contact information before payment. The purchaser or license owner may differ from the person using the Mac. Optional sharing does not upload prompts, code, files, window contents, running-app names, activity contents, or local diagnostic logs.

Detailed reporting history is retained for 30 days and daily aggregate totals for 90 days. You can disable sharing in Settings → General. This stops collection, clears unsent reports, and requests deletion of this installation’s retained diagnostic history and reporting links. If offline, deletion remains pending until the request succeeds. A minimal credential revocation record prevents delayed uploads from recreating deleted history. Purchase records and daily aggregate totals remain. Re-enabling sharing creates a new reporting identity.

The trial service records new trial enrollments for aggregate reporting. SleepWalk also measures server checkout outcomes and download request totals. These operational totals do not establish who installed or used the app. Cloudflare and Polar process the network requests necessary to provide their services.
